Tonight I was blessed with the opportunity to attend the Christmas Devotional in Salt Lake. I had6 tickets and thought what a blessing it was to be able to go to 2 sessions of the Oct conf then to come to this. I drove down with my two friends Misty and Milly. We went to Auntie Sala's house and then dad dropped us off at the Conference Center. The chance to go was awesome but the seats we hadmade us even more excitied. We were 25 rows away from where Pres. Monson was. The Conference
Center was so beautiful and hearing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir with the orchestra was unbelieveable. We were sitting there waiting for things to start and then Pres. Monson along with Pres Eyring and Pres. Uchtdorf walked in. We all stood up and there was such a reverence and deep respect for them as they walked in. They sat down then Pres. Monson motioned for everyone to sit down. It was funny. I was
taken away by the fact that I actually with my eyes could see Pres. Monson. Not by looking at the huge TV screen but I can see him in person. What an amazing experience! MoTab sang "The First Noel" and I was in tears so humble and grateful for the birth of thy Savior. He came to the world for us so we would be able to return home one day. As the First Presidency spoke I made a vow to dedicate this Christmas season to the birth of thy Savior and to serve others. I was impressed by the Spirit of things I can do to have a better knowledge of the work the Lord would have me do. After the devotional was over my friends and I walked around to look at the lights on Temple Square. It was beautiful and freezing cold. It obviously took
alot of time and effort to get it to look that magnifecent. I only took a few pics
because I still needed to call dad to pick us up and my phone was dying. Dad picked
us up and then treated us to a late dinner at Coachman's. Every time I visit dad he
always takes me to this place. It was to cathc up with him and laugh and joke around
and catch up on current events. I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to attend this event. It totally got me in the Christmas spirit of celebrating the birth of the Savior and to take the challenge of Pres. Uchtdorf to take gifts to
the Savior. I vow to make this Christmas about the Savior and less about the
commerical aspect of the holidays.
